Healing Sciences Noetic Science and Alternative Medical Research
Today's energy healing sciences are based on new understandings of how our consciousness, thoughts, and intentions affect the physical world. These sciences offer an additional and expanded approach to the academically and technically advanced medical sciences used today.
Healing science, medical science, and research related to alternative medicine is continually advancing, however not all of these sciences consider equal protocol, or seek the same result. Most medical science and studies look for scientifically proven and trial supported data and results. These studies, although often very valuable, may not consider many of the same objectives used by complementary and alternative healing studies. An argument can be made for defining “healing”, "symptoms", and quality of life for the patient. Recent studies show that a higher percentage of medical patients each year are using at least one alternative treatment for both physical and psychological conditions. Both private and government institutions are working to expand the studies of alternative healing and clarify some of the many controversies surrounding alternative healing sciences. The U.S. government agency (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine) has been researching alternative therapies and their practices for more than 10 years. The study of alternative and complimentary healing remains controversial and advocates argue that testing may require different methods of interpretation. Advocates consider the treatment of symptoms and use of pharmaceuticals to subdue or relieve symptoms as a temporary and often non effective approach to discovering underlying health conditions. They argue that research and studies often overlook many of the holistic results and question the methods of research and studies themselves. The studies of Reiki, energy healing, allopathic medicine, herbal therapies, aroma therapy, naturopathy, spiritual and shamanistic healing may require a new scientific method for interpreting and understanding their benefits.
With many of these modalities advancing and more people using complimentary healing, it remains most important that healing science consider a patient’s rights to choosing alternative healing methods while protecting consumers from fraudulent and unsafe treatments. Healers and institutions are working to structure approaches in which working with the body's enteric energy system, our spiritual nature, states of expanded consciousness and other healing abilities can be better understood. Today we are quickly expanding our perceptions of the human body, illness and consciousness as well as re-defining many scientific approaches to understanding our human experience. While science may not be able to explain the work, we understand that treating the whole person, promoting self-healing, and recognizing the benefits of healing modalities is an important option for those seeking treatment.
